We're engaged!!! :)

We are officially engaged! As of Saturday September 27, 2008.
We spent the weekend in Flagstaff (where V's parents live). We went camping in the rain. lol. Very fun actually. We visited our high school- where we first met. We talked with our former teachers. On Saturday morning Erik bought me a dozen roses- kinda funny... he woke me up and was talking to me.. in the middle of talking to him I just stopped and said, "Roses!" cuz I spotted them. Lol. It was funny. He also made breakfast! :) French toast, eggs, and bacon. Very yummy. Then we went to Snowbowl (Humphrey's Peak).
We rode the ski lift to the very top of the mountain and then hiked up from there. It was beautiful, we sat enjoying the scenery for quite some time. Once there was no one around but us, Erik popped the question and I of course said YES! :) Now I have a gorgeous ring and an even more handsome fiancee!! :)

The joy of working on a saturday

Completely random but...
I worked this Saturday for.... 12 hours. While most people slept in and had a leisurely day, I worked my butt off. I coached 3 gymnastics classes in the morning, then coached a private lesson, had a short break and then headed to Buffalo Wild Wings where I worked the dinner shift 4-11. Although this was a completely exhausting day, it was totally worth it!! I made a ton of money in tips as well as 40/hr for a private lesson. Overall it was a very positive day.... and when I think about it... what else would I have done instead... not made any money.... slept in til noon.... ate food... watched tv.... did a little homework... tried to stay out of the heat... lol. Working was an excellent choice!!! :)

First week of School- Vanessa

So, it's been one week of my Junior year at ASU, and I already have homework. :( It's ok though. I really think I'm going to enjoy my classes this semester. I am in the Professional Business program (W.P. Carey) majoring in Marketing. I'm not exactly sure what I want to do with it so far- I'm thinking either sports, or music marketing/advertising. We'll see though. My classes are....
MUS 355- Survey of American Music- easy online course to satisfy my last non-business credit

MGT 300- Management- my first management class, aimed to make me the best manager/employee I can be. haha.
FIN 300- Finance- actually really interesting already, talking about loans, banks, buying cars, houses, the housing market, I love it!
WPC 301- Welcome to W. P. Carey- teaching us how to plan our future and be ready for it

SCM 303- Honors Supply Chain Management- teacher is awesome! Seems like I could learn a lot from him
MKT 303- Honors Marketing- my first real marketing class! yay! Already have homework, but I love it, so much cool stuff in marketing.
I also have three institute classes- Book of Revelation, Business Forum, and Doctrines of the Church.
The semester will be a lot of work, but I'm gonna learn a lot more about the business world which makes me happy.

Trip to Cali!!

To finish our summer on an awesome high note, we went to the coast in Cali this past weekend.
I, Vanessa, drove out to Cali with my closest girl friend, Kristin, and her boyfriend Cameron. Erik drove from Fresno to meet us.
We went the the beach at Santa Monica all day Friday. It was so fun, we went swimming in the waves (got taken out a few times lol), went to the Pier (looked at the ferris wheel, but decided not to ride it), and went to a fancy restaurant at Venice beach for dinner. We rode around the beach area on Erik's new motorcycle- It's a yellow 2008 R6.

We love it!! :)
All day Saturday we went to Six Flags in Valencia. It was so fun. Kristin, Erik and I have gone every year for the last 4 years. We're obsessed, it's ok. lol.
Even though this weekend involved a lot of driving for the both of us, it was totally worth it!! We had so much fun, we'll post more pics soon. :)
